Carers Week runs from the 9th –15th June 2025.
The theme for Carers Week 2025 is ‘Caring About Equality‘ highlighting the inequalities faced by unpaid carers, including a greater risk of poverty, social isolation, poor mental and physical health.
Carers Week
In Leeds, there are over 61,500 unpaid carers supporting a friend or family member. Carers Week is our chance to shine a light on the vital contribution of unpaid carers, make caring visible across our city, and connect people with the support available from Carers Leeds and our partners.
Across Leeds, many carers balance work, family, and caring responsibilities—often putting their own health and wellbeing last. This year, we’re marking Carers Week with a series of events and activities designed to support, celebrate and empower carers. Our events include training sessions and workshops, a special open day at Carers Leeds, the launch of our annual carers survey, and wellbeing events like guided walks and a scenic trip on the Leeds Water Taxi.
By coming together during Carers Week, we hope to offer a short break from caring, provide valuable information, advice and support, and opportunities to connect with others who understand what it means to care.
